The Incomprehensibility of God
We all suffer from too little awe and wonder in our lives. Ask the average guy to explain to you why he is enamored with God, and it will probably be a short conversation. What can ordinary, busy, Christian men do to increase their awe and wonder?
You need to learn to focus your mind on the greatness of God.
Isaac Watts' hymn, The Incomprehensibility of God is a great place to start. For a generation that is allergic to sustained thought, no exercise is more potent than taking the time to reflect on something like a hymn. This activity isolates atrophied muscles of the mind that are in desperate need of a strenuous work out.
Meaningful growth follows a challenging exercise.
